I don't think it will help as most people go to the pound shop for stocking fillers - I personally wouldn't come in for the mulled wine as I do not like it and how many children like mince pies - if your products are good enough you shouldn't need anything to entice customers just always be pleasant to the customers to give a good impression which leaves them with a reminder how pleasant you were and will want to return to your shop.
