Am I wrong? Help me please!?

I recently email my ex from high school to meet up and chit chat about life. He said he would call but never did. So I found a old school mate which happens to be his close friend on myspace and we have talked for hours back and forth on email for like two days. I still have not heard from my ex but now I feel me and his friend has something in common. Is it wrong to fall for his friend? I still mention my ex's name to the guy and I don't want to ruin their friendship but talking to his friend on myspace has let me know that when someone likes or cares about you they will respond to you?His friend has also made hints that he enjoys my company as well. How should I approach this? Is it wrong to chat with his friend for so long?
