Which Laptop should i buy - up to �2500?

I need a new laptop after the glorious people at British Airways lost mine - yes I know I should have taken it in hand luggage but I don't like lumbering stuff about at airports. I need it for work - mainly just reviewing doents. I also do a bit of movie editing as a hobby so thought maybe an Apple Macbook Pro? In addition, it needs a screen big enough to watch DVDs on and some fun stuff to keep me bored. My previous one was a Sony vaio which was very good.
