Is there anyway to get a close view of Mt.Kintamani in Bali?

I hear from most people who have travelled to Bali and taken a tour to Mt. Kintamani that you only have a view of the crater closest to the restaurants and viewpoints around it but the mountain itself if very far away in view. Anyone know how to get a closer view without incurring too much cost?
