Am i over reacting or not?

my friend annie dumped her boyfriend ;ast week and she told me it was for the best, i said i don't know him but he doesn't sound to appealing now this guy luke has asked out my other Friend steph she doesn't know what to say if he's trying to make annie jealous or if he really wants to go out with her steph has liked luke for a while and was jealous of annie but annie says hes not good looking but its not all about looks, so steph was arguing with annie about it and i stepped in i said if you two cant be happy for one another why are you friends i mean seriously annie you dumped him its not really up to you who he goes out with and steph Annie's supposed to be your best Friend couldn't you t least wait to go out with her ex instead of rushing into it as if she doesn't matter. was i right to do this or not should i have let them deal with it they agree wiht what i said but i kind of dont?
